WALKING IN PAESTUM, ITALY: Once called Poseidonia, this ancient Greek city in southern Italy is famous for its amazingly well preserved temples that date back to 500 BC. Poseidonia eventually became Paestum after it fell under Roman rule. After the fall of Rome, the infrastructure of the city was no longer maintained and it fell into decline and was eventually abandoned.
